Kelvin Doe, a 15-year-old living in Sierra Leone, was the youngest person ever invited to M.I.T.’s “Visiting Practitioner’s Program.” He is a self-taught engineer, finding spare parts that he uses to make batteries, generators and transmitters.
The lesson See It. Be It. focuses on young entrepreneurs, including Doe, who are solving problems for their communities. It then encourages students to brainstorm business ideas of their own.
