Jeannail Carter Is Creating Space for Black Women in Gaming

As one of the first Black women to excel as a professional gamer, Jeannail Carter has the unique opportunity to be the representation she always wanted to see in esports. Jeannail sat down with Katie Couric to discuss her love of gaming and how she hopes to inspire more Black women to go pro.

The lesson “She Got Game” connects Jeannail’s rise in the gaming industry to the five SEL competencies. Students will also be asked to a video game design sprint where they will work in groups to design and pitch a new video game.
